Assumption Soup Kitchen

The Assumption Soup Kitchen runs every Friday throughout the year, serving a hot meal between 12:00-1:00 pm.  It is run by a group of volunteers and they are divided into three groups — prep crew, setting up and serving crew and clean up crew.  Many hands make for light work, and they are able to feed between 40-70 people each week.  The clientele is not only those in need, but is open to anyone, so it makes for a really nice, inviting environment.  Many seniors come for the social connection, as well as small families and those having a hard time. All mixed together, this creates an environment of acceptance, and camaraderie that is enjoyed by workers and clients alike.
