Powell River Community Services Association (CSA)

A non-profit organization that plans and administers social services to improve the quality of life in the community. Funded by the United Way and donations are tax deductible. Programs include the following:

Specialized Victim Support Services: 604-485-2620. This program works with victims of partner and sexual assault, child physical and sexual assault, elder abuse and criminal harassment or stalking.

This program provides support, information and referrals; as well as offers information and support through the legal system, including court preparation and orientation.

Police Based Victim Services: 604-485-3415. This program provides direct support services to serious crime and trauma victims as well as witnesses.

The program offers crisis intervention, emotional support, court orientation and accompaniment, information and referrals to appropriate agencies.

Poverty Law Advocate: 604-485-0950. This program provides legal advice and assistance to those living in poverty. The main focus of the program is on income assistance and disability benefits, CPP Disability applications and appeals, medical needs, tenancy issues, debt and employment problems. Many other legal issues are covered provided they do not involve family or criminal law. Assistance is also available with form completion.
